Tammy Bastien

Tammy received her Bachelor of Arts – Social Development Studies degree from the University of Waterloo as well as a Certificate in Social Work and Child Abuse from Renison College.  Tammy has been working with the general public as an Ontario Works Caseworker at the County of Wellington Social Services since 1999. She attributes her start in Social Services to her sister, who she worked alongside for many years and whom Couch of Hope is dedicated – Diana Hope.

Tammy is also a member of the County of Wellington Indigenous Advisory Committee which works contribute Indigenous perspectives on how the County of Wellington can make meaningful progress towards reconciliation, including the integration of Indigenous language, values, teachings, traditions, knowledge, and worldviews across departments.

Tammy resides in Waterloo, Ontario with her husband and two teenage boys.  She spends her spare time creating Indigenous beaded items such as Moosehide mitts, earrings and pins.
