Grace Atkinson

We live in a messy world but when the pain you feel becomes too difficult to cope with, let me relieve some of that burden. If you need a safe space to feel seen and heard without judgement, you’re in the right place.

My name is Grace (she/her) and I’m grateful for the opportunity to join Couch of HOPE as a Counselling Therapist Intern. I have a Bachelor of Education and have experience mentoring youth of all ages. I’m currently wrapping up my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. During my spare moments I provide crisis intervention for all ages on Kids Help Phone.

Beyond our emotional pain are unmet needs, which, when discovered, can be addressed and met. I can work with you to achieve your goals whether that’s establishing boundaries, fostering secure connections, changing self-talk, or identifying barriers and patterns preventing you from experiencing a fulfilling and balanced life.

Therapeutic areas of interest include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, career challenges, childhood trauma, social skills training, disordered eating, and stress management. I will explore interventions that work for you, drawing from cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, and person-centred approaches.

Be messy and complicated and afraid and show up anyway.” -Glennon Doyle.

I look forward to working with you!
