My name is Grace Myers (she/her), and I am an Intern Counselling Therapist at Couch of Hope, where I am completing my practicum as part of my Master’s in Counselling Psychology. I have always had a passion for helping people thrive, especially those facing unique pressures like athletes. I created a mental health program for the swim team SWAT, where I worked closely with swimmers to help them build confidence, balance the demands of their sport, and achieve their personal best, both in and out of the pool.
On a more personal note, my journey in mental health was deeply influenced by my own family’s experiences. When my younger brother was diagnosed with cancer at 16, and I watched and supported my older brother through his struggles with addiction, I learned firsthand the importance of providing care not just for the individual but for their family as well. These experiences shaped my belief in the power of compassion, understanding, and resilience, which I bring into my therapy practice every day.
Whether you're an athlete striving for success or someone seeking support through life's challenges, I’m here to help you find your strength and navigate your journey with confidence and care.
I understand that reaching out for help is not easy and I commend you for taking this step. Let's begin this adventure of self-exploration and positive change together!
