Kait Dunnet

My name is Kait (she/her), and I am one of the Counselling Therapist Interns here at Couch of Hope. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2022 and am now completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

In times of sadness, loneliness, and uncertainty, I will sit with you and help you process it. Through my therapeutic knowledge and personal lived experiences, I am determined to help you learn how to live with adversity. The meaning behind my symbolic tattoo is, “Speak your truth.” My goal is to create a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable enough to do exactly that.

My therapeutic areas of interest include but are not limited to relationship conflicts, self-esteem and self-acceptance, addiction, anxiety and depression, and family conflict. I provide a person-centered approach while integrating techniques from Cognitive-Behavioural, Strengths-Based and Solutions-Focused theories. Knowing that every person has different needs, we will work within the framework that best suits you.

“What we don’t need in the midst of struggle is shame for being human.” - Brene Brown
