Hello everyone! My name is Catharine Fahie (she/her). I am thrilled to be joining the Couch of HOPE team as a counselling intern.
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I hold a diploma in Social Services from Nova Scotia Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Community Development from Acadia University. My background includes work in community development initiatives, housing programs, and employment services. My approach is person-centered, strength based, and informed by mindfulness practices. I am also a certified yoga teacher and excited to integrate my passion for yoga with psychotherapy.
I believe in creating a therapeutic space that is inclusive, culturally safe, and that honours your unique experience. As a counselling intern, my goal is to foster a warm, heart-centered, and welcoming environment where you feel truly seen and heard. Taking the step to seek support is incredibly powerful. Whatever you’re going through, you are one step closer. You have all the answers within, and I am here to help you find your path there.
In my spare time, you can find me reading, writing, practicing yoga, or spending time outside exploring nature. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in this next phase of your journey!
