Kelly Byrne

I am a counseling student with almost two decades of experience supporting individuals—particularly youth—on their journey toward emotional well-being and personal growth as a social worker. Currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University, I combine my professional background with a passion for providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to help clients navigate life’s challenges and uncover their true potential.

I create a safe, supportive space for clients to explore their feelings and develop healthier coping strategies. I believe in each individual's potential for growth and healing, regardless of the challenges they face. As a therapist, I aim to foster trust, safety, and transformation through strong therapeutic relationships. My experience includes supporting clients through emotional distress, navigating life transitions, and strengthening coping skills.

I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from St. Mary’s University. I’ve received training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing, among others.

As I continue my academic journey, my goal is to integrate these skills and approaches to provide holistic, individualized care for individuals seeking to make lasting changes in their lives. I am excited to be on the path toward becoming a licensed counselor and look forward to the opportunity to work with clients to help them heal, grow, and create the lives they envision for themselves.

When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy camping and spending time outdoors, which help me maintain balance and stay grounded. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you as you take steps toward a more fulfilling life.
