My name is Yana (She/Her), and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Couch of Hope as a Counselling Therapist Intern. I completed my BA in Psychology at Saint Mary’s University. I am currently completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I also work part-time at a local non-profit organization that provides housing, support, and advocacy for individuals experiencing various mental health difficulties. Witnessing the challenges and triumphs of individuals in residential care has ignited my passion for pursuing counselling as a career.
My goal as your counsellor is to empower you to discover your own strengths and help you navigate towards a healthy and balanced life. I am deeply committed to providing an inclusive and non-judgemental therapeutic environment in which you feel respected and understood.
I am drawn to modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy. However, I remain open to modifying my approaches to ensure I find the best for you and your unique needs. My areas of interest include depression and anxiety, burnout, and self-esteem.
Beginning counselling can feel uncomfortable, and I am dedicated to supporting you through this process with empathy and compassion. I want to help you navigate challenges and find effective strategies for improving your well-being.
I’m looking forward to working with you towards achieving these goals!
