Hello and welcome!
My name is Megan (she/her) and I feel very grateful to be a part of the wonderful team here at Couch of Hope.
I recently moved back to Nova Scotia after spending much of my adolescence and adulthood living in Alberta, and I am thrilled to be back near the ocean! I completed my undergrad in Child and Youth Care at MacEwan University and am currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) through Yorkville University. Throughout my career thus far, I have been fortunate to occupy many supportive roles working with children, adolescents, and adults in school, residential, and clinical settings.
While my therapeutic approach is integrative, I particularly like working from an acceptance, mindfulness, and/or person-centred lens. Some of my other areas of interest include family dynamics, anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.
Above and beyond, it is important to highlight that I am passionate about supporting others from an equitable and socially-just place, and strive to ensure this is at the core of my practice. If we work together, my number one priority will always be that you feel safe and welcome.
I look forward to getting to know you.
