Vanessa Iafolla

Hello! My name is Vanessa Iafolla (she). I am excited to work with the team here at Couch of Hope.

I am originally from Toronto, and I have worked as a university instructor for over a decade. I hold a doctorate from the University of Toronto in criminology, and I have worked with victims of financial crime for the last few years. I am completing a Master of Education in Counselling at Acadia University. I approach my work with an interdisciplinary lens, and I am looking forward to growing as a counselling therapist with integrative approach to ML Counselling. I have training in cognitive behavioural therapy and some training in dialectical behavioural therapy, and I’m interested in future in working with psychedelic and art therapies.

Outside the clinic, I am an exhibiting artist. I have shown my work primarily in Nova Scotia and Ontario. I have an interdisciplinary art practice, mostly photographic and sculptural, and in my art I explore intimacy, memory, home, family, and relationships.
